This year, we are doing something different. Instead of asking you to post photos, we will ask you to do some poetry for Mom. So, here we go! Calling all sons, daughters, spouses, parents, etc., who would love to give Mom a free photo shoot session.
Categories
- From 0 to 5 years old,
- From 5 to 12 years old,
- From 13 years old
What do you need to do?
- For categories 1 and 2: Send us a video recording of your child(ren) reciting a mother's related poem.
- For category 3: Write an original poem with a mother-related subject and send it to us by direct message. The poem must be original. Optionally, you can record yourself reciting it. We will use different internet searching machines to make sure.
We will post your video or poem on our Facebook page with a tag pointing to you.
Rules
- Each category must have at least 10 participants; otherwise, that category will be null. If your Mother has more than one child, you can send different recordings; this will help to reach the minimum required quorum.
- The winner of each category will be the post that has the most likes. Like on shared posts won't count; only likes on the original post.
- The winners will be announced on Mother's Day (May 11th, 2025) at noon on our Facebook Page.
- The winners will receive a free photo shoot session (30 minutes long) indoors or outdoors (if weather allows it) for Mom. This photo session can not be used for any social event of any nature. The photoshoot must take place within the limits of the City of Cornwall, ON. Once the photos are delivered, each winner is entitled to one 8.5x11 framed print of your choice.
- The winners will have from May 12th, 2025, to December 31st, 2025, to claim their free photoshoot; otherwise, it will be lost.
- The recited poem for categories 1 and 2 can be from another author. It just needs to be mother-related.
- The poem for category 3 must be original with a mother-related subject. Optionally, you may send a recording of you reciting it, however, a written submission is required. We will use different searching tools, including AI searching ones, to verify. If the poem is not original, the contestant will be disqualified, and the number of participants in such category will be decreased.
What can I do to help myself win the contest?
Easy! Once we publish your recording or poem, we will tag you. Feel free to share it on groups or send it to your friends. Make sure they like the original post and not the one you share.
We will share it as well as it arrives.
We are not judging the quality of the recording, but a nice recording is more likely to get more likes than one that is shaky, dark or noisy.
